How do we make sure our team members are supported in a fully remote work environment?

We have been a company with remote employees since 2010. We value the flexibility being a trusted remote worker brings to our personal lives and have made sure that as we grow, our systems are built to continue to support 100% remote work. 

  • We use cloud-based apps or software for all of our accounting processes.
  • We are clear on performance expectations for every role and provide access to the data behind them so you have control and transparency into those metrics.
  • We have a built-in support system for every accounting task. Our clients are managed by our Client Leads with the day-to-day of accounting tasks being performed by our Bookkeepers. We always have two accountants on every client so there is back-up when vacations are taken, sick time is needed, or other life things happen last-minute. Our Team Leads are also there to hop in and support as needed when questions arise or additional support is needed.
  • We document everything. We love processes and procedures and we make sure they are documented in such a way that when backup does need to step in, tasks can be taken over with a minimal amount of training.
